Kristen Selleck, MSW

Kristen Selleck is the National Training and Consultation Director for David Mandel &Associates. In this role, she facilitates training and coaching on the Safe and Together model.

Kristen has a varied background in the domestic violence field. She was employed by the Coordinating Council for Children in Crisis to serve as the Domestic Violence Consultant to the Department of Children and Families (DCF) New Haven Office from 2006-2009. In this role, Kristen worked to assist DCF staff to better understand perpetrators’ behaviors, the effect of domestic violence on children, and the safety planning and strengths of the non-offending parents. In addition, she was the lead trainer for the implementation of the CT DCF new domestic violence investigation protocol. While at DCF, Kristen authored and coauthored multiple curricula including a domestic violence pre-service training module for DCF trainees and several trainings on domestic violence as related to child welfare.

Prior to her work in child welfare, Kristen was a Family Violence Victim Advocate in the Danbury (CT) Superior Court. In this role, she assisted adult and child domestic violence victims in criminal and family court proceedings. While working for the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury, Kristen held positions as an advocate, hotline worker, community educator and a legislative liaison in the domestic violence and sexual assault fields. As a community educator, she wrote curricula for community providers and the various populations they served on issues of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Kristen holds her MSW with a concentration in policy practice from the University of Connecticut and her BA from Mount Holyoke College.
