David Mandel appointed to Victorian Expert Advisory Committee on Perpetrator Interventions

David Mandel was just appointed to the Victorian government’s Expert Advisory Committee on Perpetrator Interventions. The  Committee was established as a result of  Victoria’s Royal Commission into Family Violence, which was released earlier this year. It designed to provide independent advice to the Victorian Government on the range of perpetrator programs, services and initiatives, including justice-system responses and community-based responses that should be available in Victoria to respond to perpetrators across varying forms and risk levels of family violence.

The Committee’s advice will also contribute to the development by the Victorian Government of principles that inform the programs, services and initiatives required to respond to perpetrators of family violence who pose a risk to victims, as consistent with recommendation 85 of the Royal Commission’s report.
