Safe & Together
Pre-Symposium: October 12, 2016 (9am-4pm)
Symposium: October 13 & 14, 2016 (9am-4pm)
Welcome to the 4th National Safe and Together Symposium. After an overwhelming success from 2015, we are excited to announce that this year’s symposium will continue to focus on children exposed to domestic violence. It is an honor to feature international experts, such as Prof. Cathy Humphreys from the University of Melbourne, Ruby White Starr from Casa de Esperanza, Representatives from the Adult Children Exposed to Domestic Violence (ACE-DV) Leadership Forum and other professionals continuing to advance toward Domestic Violence Proficient practices and systems.
Held in Orlando, FL at the Wyndham Grand Bonnet Creek hotel, we know this year’s symposium will be a wonderful opportunity to learn, share ideas and develop collaborative opportunities while enjoying all Orlando has to offer.
Some General Details:
We are at the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek
14651 Chelonia Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32821 (407) 390-2300
NOT the Wyndham Bonnet Creek, which happens to be right down the street.
The hotel is a 30-minute drive from Orlando International Airport. Unfortunately, the hotel does not operate an airport shuttle, so you may need to catch a Taxi, call an Uber or make friends with a family driving into Disney World.
If you are staying at the hotel for the week and renting a car or just driving to the Symposium each day, the hotel has given us a 50% discount on parking at $10 a day. Everyone with a car will receive a ticket during the event to use in the parking garage upon exiting.
The Symposium will begin at 9:00am and end at 4:00pm all three days
Registration can be found on the lower level. Facing the check-in desk – turn right to find the elevator and staircase down.
Registration will be open:
- Tuesday from 3:00pm – 6:00pm (in case anyone checking into the hotel would like to get a head start)
- Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00am – 9:30am
- You only need to register once regardless of how many days you are signed up to attend
- For those paying at the door, please bring a check payable to ‘David Mandel and Associates.’ Any questions regarding payment, please contact Kay at email@example.com
You can view the recently updated program/agenda here. For those attending the Pre-Symposium on Wednesday, a reminder, you will choose one workshop for the day.
Continental Breakfast will be served from 8:00 am – 9:00am in the conference area all three days.
